First match of the 2024-2025 season and first win for Juvenil A in Group 5 of the División de Honor. The pepineros managed to come from behind against U.D. La Cruz Villanovense.
The team coached by Manolo Rueda made their debut at the Butarque Sports Facility on the first day of the league. In the first half, Yuri and Usero had the chance to give C.D. Leganés' youth team the lead, but the defence and the visiting goalkeeper were both on hand to prevent the Pepinero goal on two occasions and the score was 0-0 at half-time.
In the second half, in the 63rd minute, the Villanueva de la Serena team managed to take the lead in one of the few approaches they had during the match. Despite the goal against, the Blue and Whites did not give up and with the introduction of Suleiman El Haddadi and Alejandro Notario, the team was more dangerous. In the 83rd minute, Sule headed in his first goal in the Pepinera shirt to level the scores. Before going into injury time, the winning goal came again with a fantastic header from Notario at the far post.
It was a great reaction from Juvenil A, who got their first three points of the season in the División de Honor. The next game will be away (Saturday, 7 September, 18:00) against C.D. Diocesano.
